1. Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I have my own food blog.

2. What is your favourite post-run food?
Bananas and coffee.

3. What is your best race advice?
Don’t overthink it. Treat the run like any other training run. Your body will know what to do. Breathe, relax, and have fun!

1. Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I’m pretty consistent when it comes to consistency. Over the last 10 years running 16 marathons around the world, currently less than 25 minutes separate my lifetime PW (personal worst) and PB (personal best) – both of which are at the Boston Marathon. You know what they say, 90% of running the Marathon distance really is mental!

2. Why do you like to RUNVAN®?
It’s always great to support the local events in our vibrant running community here in Vancouver. There is always great camaraderie with many friends and of course, the gourmet post-race food.

3. What is your best race advice?
Relax, breathe, and simply run. One foot in front of the other.

1. Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I am a peanut butter addict! I seriously have to limit myself some days… it’s my go-to fuel, and excellent with just about anything. Eating crunchy by the spoon is the way to do it!

2. What is your best race advice?
Firstly, congratulations for committing yourself to a goal! My best advice is to just stay relaxed out there on the weekend. When rounding some of the easier sections of the course, relax your shoulders, focus on your breathing, and settle into that pace. Lastly, if you’re following a pacer, don’t even look at your watch! Engage your competitors, and don’t let that pacer out of your sight. You are stronger than you think you are – you got this!

1. Why do you like to RUNVAN®?
Although I have lived in Vancouver my whole life and ran almost everywhere in the city, I never get bored. Vancouver is such a beautiful place to run. The scenic routes RUNVAN® offers along with the amazing event organization from the RUNVAN® team always leave me with an unforgettable experience.

2. What is your favourite post-run food?
A big smoothie with as many berries as I can fit in!

3. What is your best race advice?
Warm up properly! Getting your body ready and not letting the adrenaline take over your initial few kilometres will help you keep on pace towards achieving your goal! Ensure to save some energy for a strong finishing kick to end the race with a bang!

1. Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I ran my first half marathon last year because of a bet, but now I can’t stop doing them!

2. Why do you like to RUNVAN®?
RUNVAN® events are very well organized. The encouraging atmosphere always makes me sign up for the next one. Plus, RUNVAN® gives athletes of all levels a chance to race in beautiful Vancouver.

3. What is your best race advice?
Try to stay relaxed for the first few kilometres. It can be tempting to start out faster because of the excitement of the race, but starting at a reasonable pace will make sure you have enough energy to finish strong. Also, smile for the cameras!

1. Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I love creating furniture and art from plywood and cardboard using laser cutter.

2. Why do you like to RUNVAN®?
The medals RUNVAN® make for their events are spectacular; they have a nice solid weight, and spectacular designs. T-shirts from the BMO Vancouver Marathon are also grea. As proven by me, they can withstand dozens of washes, and tend to impress fellow runners.

3. We all have it. What is the worst, repetitive song in your head while running?
“Eye of the Tiger”, of course! You pass by the invited band, they happen to play it – boom! You’re stuck with the motive for the rest of the run.

1. Why do you like to RUNVAN®?
The openness and inclusiveness of the running community. RUNVAN® makes an event out of each race. Instead of just showing up for the race, RUNVAN® focuses on the event with race expos at package pick-up and activities after the race. There is something for everyone, from volunteering to participating in the events.

2. What is your favourite post-run food?
Krinkle cut sea salt potato chips, bone broth, and pepperoni to satisfy the salt, fat, and protein which my body wants after a long distance run event.

3. What is your best race advice?
It’s about the finish line, not just the finish time. Have fun and run happy.
