About Granville Island Turkey Trot
Granville Island Turkey Trot
The Granville Island Turkey Trot is a hallmark event for Granville Island and the local Vancouver running community. The annual event takes place over Thanksgiving Weekend in the spirit of giving back and brings together community in a celebration of Thanksgiving – demonstrating our running community, gratitude for the sport, and our commitment to supporting others. This fun community event annually sells-outs with more than 2,000 registered runners.
Thanksgiving Monday’s 10KM encourages participants to ‘Run, Walk or Stroll’, plus there’s a fun Kids Run. Organized by the local non-profit RUNVAN®, this event further supports the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, Surrey Food Bank, plus SHARE Family and Community Services.
What’s unique about the event?
- Family friendly activities in the spirit of Thanksgiving
- Capped at 2,000 runners for the 10KM race
- Considered one of the most scenic and friendly races
- Moms and Dads may push junior in the stroller division
- Prizes for costumes, teams and age category winners

Grand Slam
Score the Grand Slam
Grand Slam awards go to those who run all RUNVAN® races in the same calendar year:
- First Half presented by BlueShore Financial
- BMO Vancouver Marathon
- Granville Island Turkey Trot
- Great Trek presented by BlueShore Financial
A bonus prize is awarded to those who Score the RUNVAN® Grand Slam!
- Run all four RUNVAN® events in the same calendar year
- Includes any of the race distances, except the Kids Run
- Runners may pick up their Grand Slam prize at the Great Trek presented by BlueShore Financial (it will not be mailed)
- Use the same first name, last name and date of birth to automatically qualify

ABOUT RUNVAN®
The Vancouver International Marathon Society RUNVAN® is the non-profit, volunteer-run organization, responsible for organizing the First half presented by BlueShore Financial, BMO Vancouver Marathon, Vancouver’s only marathon event, the Jerome Classic, Granville Island Turkey Trot and Great Trek presented by BlueShore Financial. The Society is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and delivers running events with a mandate to inspire active lifestyles and celebrate the value sport delivers to our communities.
